The decision has now been made: After intensive, constructive discussions with numerous industry representatives we’ve decided to cancel this year’s 37th Int. Modellbahn-Ausstellung, 19th Faszination Modellbau and 12th Echtdampf-Hallentreffen, all of which were scheduled to take place in Friedrichshafen from the 30th of October through the 1st of November, 2020.
Rational Thinking, Care and a Sense of Responsibility
Bettina Schall emphasises that this decision is based on rational thinking and a sense of responsibility: “As trade fair promoters, we see ourselves as service providers to our exhibitors and visitors. Current uncertainties amongst exhibitors and visitors, for example with regard to travel and sending employees to events, are making it necessary to look to the year 2021 with pragmatism and confidence.” The fact that time is now running short also speaks in favour of cancellation.
Cooperation partners and visitors waited for a long time for concrete information, but official regulations and decision-making delays forced them to be patient. The time has now come to focus on the future: “Exhibitors and visitors alike should look ahead to building upon the success of recent years. This is why we’re now all working together on thorough, detailed planning for the upcoming year,” says Bettina Schall. The decision to cancel these three events in 2020 was taken after intensive and constructive discussions with numerous industry representatives, and underscores a sense of care, foresight and consideration for the concerns of exhibitors and visitors alike. The efforts of all involved parties are now being focused on intensive preparations for the upcoming trade fair highlights of the model railroading and model building sectors in Friedrichshafen in 2021, with the objective of getting ready for the future.
The next Faszination Modellbau and Echtdampf-Hallentreffen is planned from the 5th through the 7th of November, 2021.
